Financial Management
Financial Management is designed to teach students how the decisions of a company affect shareholder value and how to make decisions that will increase that value.
Topics covered will include the basic principles of investing (i.e. discounted cash flow, price-earnings multiples, diversification, and the relationship between risk and expected return in securities markets); and capital investment decisions, which involve estimating cash flows and discounting them at the opportunity cost of capital. Students will also study shareholder value and how it is affected by a firm's financing decisions, such as the choice of using debt or equity capital.
