Financial Management
Financial Management is designed to teach students how the decisions of a company affect shareholder value and how to make decisions that will increase that value. Topics covered will include the basic principles of investing (i.e. discounted cash flow, price-earnings multiples, diversification, and the relationship between risk and expected return in securities markets) and capital investment decisions, which involve estimating cash flows and discounting them at the opportunity cost of capital. Shareholder value and how it is affected by a firm's financing decisions, such as the choice of using debt or equity capital, will also be studied.
